Setup steps
Follow the steps below to connect your E-Paper display to Fyresign.
Install the Samsung E-Paper app on your phone
Search for “Samsung E-Paper” in the Google Playstore or Apple App Store and install the app.
When the display powers on for the first time, it shows three QR-codes:
- One to download the Android app
- One to downlaod the iOS app
- One to add the device tot he app
You can use these QR codes to install the app directly from the display.
Register the display in the app via Bluetooth
Open the Samsung E-Paper app. A nearby device appears automatically. Tap Add device to register the display, or tap the + button and scan the QR code shown on the screen.
Verify and enter the device name and pairing code shown on the screen to complete the connection.
Accept the terms and privacy notice
When the display powers on for the first time, it shows the Smart Hub Terms & Conditions, and the Smart Signage Privacy Policy. Tap OK.
Choose Manual Setup
Select the installation type: Manual Setup. This is the only option available in the current built.
Set the content source to Custom
The content source offers four options
- Mobile
- USB
- Samsung VXT
- Custom
Select Custom and enter: https://fyresign.app
Select the device PIN
Create a 6-digit PIN and enter it twice to confirm.
Press and hold the “Hold” and “Bluetooth” button for 20 seconds.
- The product will reset and turn off, while the screen retains the current picture.
- Press the “Power” button to turn the product back on. The initial setup secreen with QR codes will appear on the display.
Name the screen
Give the display a recognizable name - for example the model name, or its location.
Install Fyresign on the device
The device dashboard should now display the Custom content source pointing to https://fyresign.app Tap install to push the player to the screen.
Once installed, the button changes to Uninstall, and the branded Fyresign connect screen appears on the display.
Connect to Fyresign
Once connected, the display shows a Fyreesign activation code. Use this to complete the registration in Fyresign.
Display content
- In Fyresign, go to screens and select your screen.
- Assign a playlist and click save.

Set Sleep Time to Always On
This setting controls how long the display stays on before going into sleep mode when inactive.
Frequently Asked Questions about E-Paper displays
What do I do if I forget the device PIN?
You’ll need to fully reset the device. There’s no other way to recover access, so store the PIN somewhere safe.
E-Paper technology takes 20-50 seconds to redraw an image. This is a characteristic of the display type, not a fault. We recommend keeping each slide on screen for minimun 2 minutes.
No. Sleep mode isn’t currently supported. Sleep Time should always be set to Always On, otherwise the screen may stop displaying content.
Yes, this can be done from the device Settings without re-registering the screen.
