Boost safety, efficiency, and communication across your fleet with FyreSign – the digital signage platform for fleet management.

What is Fleet Management?

In short:

What is Fleet Management?

Fleet Management is designed for companies with a large number of screens. It gives you full control over which content appears where, when, and how. Set rules, apply conditionals, override playlists, and much more — all from one place.
With this new system, managing your content becomes faster, easier, and smarter.

The technology behind fleet management goes much deeper, so in this article, we’ll break down what it is and how it works.

Content Filtering

Content Filtering

When fleet management is activated for your organization, you gain access to all your screens and devices — across all sub-levels you have access to.
You can then filter your devices based on free text, tags, playlists, device status, operating system, rotation, and layout. Once filtered, you can easily select or deselect which units you want to manage.

Tags

Tags

A key new feature with fleet management is tags.
Tags allow you to label devices, playlists, sliders — even entire organizations. This creates a smarter way to group devices and apply actions based on tags.

You can manage your tags under the “Organization” tab in the platform — rename them, update them, or delete them at any time.

Actions

Actions

Once you’ve filtered your devices and organized your tags, it’s time to take action. Here are just some of the possibilities:

  • Assign Playlists – Add playlists in addition to existing ones by creating a “policy” that can be time-controlled and dependent on other conditions.
  • Override Playlists – Replace all existing content with a new playlist. This also creates a policy with customizable timing and dependencies.
  • Override Layouts – Replace the current screen layout with a new one via a time-based policy.
  • Set Playlists – Assign a new playlist and remove all previous content on that device (no policy created).
  • Add Playlists – Add a playlist alongside existing content (non-destructive).
  • Remove Playlists – Simply remove playlists from a device.
  • Set Layout – Apply a specific layout to selected devices.
  • Remove Layout – Remove the layout currently in use.
  • Time Scheduling – Set up content schedules by time of day, and remove them just as easily.
"Policies" or "Rules"

"Policies" or "Rules"

Policies are brand-new to our platform.
A policy is essentially a set of rules applied to a device or group. Under the “Organization” tab, you can create policies at the org level. Under “Policies,” you’ll find an overview of all active rules — where you can edit, delete, or assign schedules.

Smarter Content Prioritization

Smarter Content Prioritization

Let’s say multiple users are assigning playlists at different levels of your organization. How does the system decide what to show?

We’ve built smart algorithms that calculate content priority based on multiple factors, including creation time and rule origin within the organizational hierarchy. These are evaluated in a points-based system that determines the exact playback order — automatically.
