RBAC

Manage user access with role-based control. Assign roles with specific permissions for slides, media, devices, and more.

Role-based access control (RBAC), also known as role-based security, is a system that restricts system access by setting up roles with varying permissions and privileges and then allocating them to authorized users.

Only the person with a “Legacy role” is able to make these changes.
What does “read” means in terms of access;

  • Slide & playlist; The user does not have access to create, change or delete Slides in the software. They cannot create and add playlist on a screen.
  • Media & files; No access to upload images/videos or documents.
  • Device; Can’t connect new monitors, make changes or delete monitors.
  • Layouts; cannot create or modify layouts

To create a new role:

  • Choose a name for the role.
  • Select which users should have this role assigned to them.User assignment can be done at a later stage for future users, etc.
  • Then select which actions to allow and click 'Save.'

To edit a role, choose it from the list. You can change the name of the role, users, and allowed actions.

You can also remove a role entirely.

Note: Deleting a role is an irreversible action.

A user can have multiple roles assigned to them.
