Fleet management

Do you have screens across multiple locations, or simply a lot of screens to keep track of? With fleet management, you can update all your screens form one place - without logging in to each department/team individually. You decide what to show, where and when.

Prerequisites

  • Fyresign account with fleet managment enabled.
  • Administrator or organization-level access in Fyresign.

Fleet managment is divided into four tabs. Use Devise for day-to-day tasks and Organization for rules that should apply going forward.

Device tab

Use the filter tool at the top to narrow down the list. You can filter by:

Fleet management overview
  • Device name (free text)
  • Tags
  • Playlist
  • Device status
  • Operating system
  • Rotation and layout

Check the boxes next to the screens you want to change. The action menu becomes active once at least one device is selected.

Which playlist action should you use?

  • Add playlist: Add content without removing what’s currently showing.
  • Set playlist: Replace the current content immediately, no scheduling.
  • Override playlist: Replace the current content and schedule when it happens.

Working with layouts

The same actions are available for layouts. Set layout, Override layout, and Remove layout. The steps are identical to the playlist action above.

Organization tab

Use this tab when you want a rule to apply automatically to all screens in a group - including screens added later. This is useful if, for example, you want all new screens in a dempartment to always start with the same content.

Creating an organization policy

  1. Navigate to the Organization tab in fleet management.
  2. Select the scope: Organization, Department, Team.
  3. Choose the action type: A short desctiption of each action is shown in the interface.
  4. Configure settings and confirm.

Active policies appear in the Policies tab.

Policies tab

Here you ee all active policies in your organization. The tab shows the policy name, which screens or group it applies to, and who created it.

Editing a policy
  1. Find the policy in the list.
  2. Click update policy.
  3. Make your changes and confirm.
Deleting a policy
  1. Find the policy in the list.
  2. Click delete policy.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Device Map

The Device Map shows a world map of all screens in your organization. This makes it easy to get an overview of which devices are online and where they are located.

What the pins mean:

  • Red, opaque pin = screen is online.
  • Red, transparent pin = screen is offline.
Navigating the map
  • Zoom using the scroll wheel or the controls in the corner.
  • Pan by clicking and dragging.
  • Click a pin to view information about the screen.
Adding a location manually

Some screens report their location automatically. If your screen does not appear on the map:

  1. Go to the device’s editing window in Fyresign.
  2. Open Advanced settings.
  3. Enter the device’s Latitude and Longitude.
  4. Save the changes.

Frequently asked questions about Fleet managment

What is the different between "Set playlist" and "Override playlist"?

Set playlist replaces the content immediately without creating a policy. Override playlist does the same, but also lets you schedule when the change takes effect.

Does an organization policy affect screens that are already configured?

Yes. A policy at organization level appliea to all screens within the selected scope - both existing and future devices.

Can I undo a policy deletion?

No. Deletion is permanent. You will need to create a new policy manually if you want to restore it.

Which screens report location automatically?

This varies by device and operating system. If a screen does not appear on the map, add its location manually via Advanced settings.
